The Kingston Toy Library is a community based organisation that aims to provide affordable and sustainable play equipment that enhances the physical, social, intellectual and emotional development of preschool children.
The Kingston Toy Library allows members to borrow from our wide range of quality, engaging toys. We have over 2,100 toys that are durable, stimulating and require kids to use and develop their own skills. And of course, they are fun! Our toys are aimed at preschool children aged 0-7 and include: baby toys, active play toys, discovery toys, transport toys, jigsaw puzzles, costumes, games, large toys & party packs.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE TOY LIBRARY?
• Save money by reducing the need to buy toys
• Environmental benefits – share resources & reduce waste
• Save on storage space and reduce clutter at home
• Give children the chance to choose toys for themselves
• Meet other families and connect with the local Kingston community.
FUNDING AND OPERATION
We are a not-for-profit incorporated organisation owned and run by our members. Membership fees provide most of our income and we also rely on grants and fundraising. We have a paid coordinator who is available to help select toys, organise duty hours and answer any queries. Members also elect a committee every year to manage the toy library’s resources, set policy and provide strategic oversight for the future.
HOW DO I JOIN?
