Life Activities Club Cheltenham Inc.

Older People
The Club is a not-for-profit organisation managed by community minded volunteers for retired and semi-retired people looking to expand their interests and enjoy a variety of activities and outings. It is a great place to meet new friends and enjoy the next phase of life. New members are welcome.

The Club provides a meeting place for members and a wide range of activities to become involved in, such as:  Walking Groups, Table Tennis, Tai Chi, Theatre & Social Events, Scrabble, MahJong,  Holidays, Dine-outs, Cinema Club, Bolivia, Badminton.

Books, DVDs & Jigsaws are available for loans (subject to sanitization treatment).

If you are interested in hiring the hall for a social event, ring Judith (0448257097).

The Club’s affairs are overseen by an elected Committee and each activity has its own convenor who makes things happen. Newsletters are mailed to members on a regular basis, keeping everyone informed of activities and dates to remember.  As an incorporated body the Club is required to report annually to the Dept. of Consumer Affairs and also to the City of Kingston.  Financial reports are  presented each month at an afternoon Club meeting when visiting speakers provide a focus and members enjoy a social get-together. We also look outside our own activities and financially support a number of charities.

Members are mostly people over retirement age, but there is no formal age limitation.  There is no restriction on who may join the Club, but in the very unlikely event that the membership of any individual would clearly not be in the Club’s best interests we reserve the right to refuse membership.Membership costs just $15 a year - July to June - and activities conducted in the hall or at members' homes attract a small payment of $1 to assist with running costs.

Opening Hours

A number of Club Activities have resumed in compliance with current State Government restrictions, and in accordance with Kingston Council's COVID-19 plan (e.g. table tennis, Tuesday afternoon).

For details please contact the Club for the latest copy of newsletter.
