Animalia is a not for profit organisation which rescues rehabilitates & releases sick injured or orphaned native wildlife in the Sand belt region of Victoria (Brighton to Portsea & to Pakenham). We travel further for Fruitbat and Microbat rescue when required as we specialise in this species

Animalia also offers assistance to wildlife in the form of advising other wildlife carers across the state on various rehabilitation techniques and runs education workshops and classes for carers, the community and school groups. Animalia proudly takes an active role in mentoring new people who wish to become involved in wildlife care, rescue and rehabilitation, we encourage people from all walks of life, ages and cultures to take part in the shelter helper program. Typically university students require hands on skills with animal handling and in order to gain employment they volunteer with Animalia for many years to show their commitment to their chosen field. We encourage retired citizens to help us with running our organisation and welcome new members.

Opening Hours

We operate a wildlife rescue hotline 24hrs/7days and volunteer hours are set by each day and the capabilities of each volunteering individual. Full training must be undertaken with our director to become a shelter helper.
