Kingston Arts

Arts, crafts & culture
Kingston Arts presents an impressive calendar of performing, visual and cinematic arts events and activities across its three primary arts spaces: Kingston Arts Centre, Kingston City Hall and Shirley Burke Theatre.

City of Kingston has also has strengthened its support for artists by offering Arts Grants each year across a range of categories and by soon launching two new, affordable studio spaces.

In the community, Kingston Arts offers a wider calendar of events. Kingston Arts delivers Council’s flagship program NAIDOC each year. Other programs include: Open Studios, New Blood (creative development program), Toolbox (artist professional development programs), Artz Blitz (24 hour visual art and creative writing competition), Lens Mist Photography Award & Exhibition, the Makers Market, and the City of Kingston's public art program.

Kingston Arts' performing arts programs are designed to showcase Melbourne's finest talent as well as acting as a platform for emerging artists. Gallery spaces including G1, G2, G3, the Vault and The Bridge promote artistic excellence and innovation with diverse and thought provoking exhibitions of both emerging and established artists.

The City of Kingston is committed to developing a public art program which reflects and celebrates our history, stories, cultures and sense of place through ephemeral, temporary and permanent public art.
