Kingston Libraries, with its nine sites located throughout the municipality, assists Council to provide equitable access to a diverse range of social, educational, cultural and recreational opportunities, as well as providing for partnerships with the community.
Through the provision of Internet, Wi-Fi and personal computing facilities, Kingston Libraries assist every resident to access the Information Age. We understand that people like to learn how to use the internet in a friendly environment and offer hands on classes that give the opportunity to ask questions. Class sizes are small with notes provided and are for free.
Search the catalogue, read or write a review and discover new books, DVD’s and more. There are also collections in Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Italian, Turkish and Vietnamese. Find links to a range of free e-books and e-audio books. We also provide a range of free research databases for you to use at the library and from home.
Join us for a host of interesting, fun and enjoyable events for adults and children.
We offer a range of programs for children including; story times for babies, tots and children, as well as ‘Virtual Storytimes’ which you can access by joining Kingstonlibraries.net. We have book clubs for primary school children and Readz @ 4pm, a group for young people to come together on a bi-monthly basis to meet other young people and have some fun. The Library also runs fun programs during School holiday.
A free home library service is available to members of the Kingston community who are temporarily or permanently housebound due to age, illness, injury or disability and have no reasonable alternative to home delivery of library materials.
