Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) Volunteer

Long term

Want to make a difference to an older person who may be lonely or isolated? Why not become a Community Visitor?

A Community Visitor is a Volunteer who is matched with a resident of an aged care facility, and who visits on a regular basis to provide friendship and companionship.

Visits can be spent doing something both the resident and the volunteer enjoy - reading, listening to music, chatting and reminiscing or going for a walk or other outing.

Central Bayside Community Health Services (CBCHS) Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) matches Community Visitor Volunteers with Aged Care residents in the Kingston and Bayside areas.

Volunteers commit to visiting their resident for approximately an hour once a fortnight, as a minimum (but you can visit more often if you like). We also ask that potential volunteers consider if they are in a position to make that fortnightly commitment for at least one year.
