Long term

Make a difference by giving an Aged Care resident the opportunity to converse in their mother tongue.

A number of residents living in Aged Care Facilities in the Kingston/ Bayside areas would benefit greatly from a visitor who can speak their language and who understands their culture.

If you speak Arabic, Italian, Greek or Polish and would like to make a difference to the life of an elderly resident this is the volunteer role for you.

The Community Visitors Scheme program aims to provide company and companionship to older people who have been identified as being lonely or socially isolated.

Visits may involve, chatting together, a gentle stroll or sharing an activity such as cards or reading.  Volunteers commit to visiting the same resident for a minimium of an hour a fortnight for an ongoing period of time.

As a Volunteer Visitor with CBCHS you will receive ongoing support and training. Your time and friendship can make a huge difference to the life of an aged care resident & help to reduce social isolation in your community.
