Long term

Become a volunteer with the Community Visitors Scheme and help make a difference to this lady's day. She has company in the evenings, but is lonely during the day. The Community Visitors Scheme is designed for elderly people who are feeling lonely or socially isolated. If you could spare an hour or so during the week and can speak her native language, she would be delighted to welcome you into her home. Aspendale Gardens location.

The Community Visitor Scheme is a government funded program. All volunteers are required to attend an interview, provide 2 referees, and undergo a police check (we pay for this). We ask that volunteer friendly visitors commit to visiting at least once a fortnight (weekly is preferred) for a minimum of 12 months. Training and support is provided every step of the way.
