Leisure Buddy Volunteers are matched with adults with intellectual disabilities to provide companionship and reduce the effects of isolation.

As a volunteer you play a vital role in improving the quality of life of an adult with an intellectual disability through ongoing friendship and social inclusion. 

You will also make an amazing new friend!

We are looking for a volunteer to connect with Bob who is a an engaging young man whose interests include art, food, movies, gaming and cooking.

Due to COVID -19 this will initially be through digital contact and will progress to fortnightly outings in person once this is permitted.

No previous experience required. Competencies include a warm and caring attitude as well as empathy, good communication skills and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Reliability and a willingness to commit to very regular contact for a minimum of 12 months is a requirement. Volunteers should be aged 18 plus.
