The secretary serves as the public officer and communication line between the president and library team, its official reporting bodies, patronage and community.
The secretary is the fundamental communication mouthpiece and gatekeeper.
They document, manage and transmit information relating to the organisation's operations and objectives.

This role requires an individual who really cares about the community. They are dedicated to fostering the necessary channels to ensure the library’s enriching services are accessible to all seeking and in need of what the library can provide.

A person in this role is hard-working, analytical, compassionate, diplomatic, patient, possesses high communication skills, is extremely responsible, reliable, thorough, organised and able to meet all obligatory deadlines relating to the president and official umbrella bodies the library must report to.
