Yooralla's Chelsea Opportunity shop promotes a supportive, engaging, creative and enjoyable environment where people of all abilities and backgrounds can volunteer.
All eligible volunteers working within the Yooralla Opportunity Shop located at Chelsea will be responsible for facilitating the day to day retail operations; ensuring planned operational targets are achieved. Volunteer training and induction will be provided by the Manager, Volunteer Engagement and at times, the Group Manager, Pathways to Employment. Each volunteer will be allocated tasks that match their level of knowledge, interests and skill level. Volunteer assigned tasks may include; but are not limited to, sorting, tagging and presenting stock. In addition volunteers may also be required to support the training and orientation of new Volunteers. It is Yooralla’s responsibility to provide an engaging, supportive, safe and enjoyable environment for all volunteers engaged at a service delivery level.
The Opportunity shop is also a place where people with disability are supported to gain valuable employment skills. During set times, Yooralla Learning Hub Customers come to the store with support and develop retail, communication, organisational skills and build their confidence in the work place.
