If you can be a friend, you can be a mentor! As little as one hour a week can change a young person's life. It may even change your life too!
TRY Mentoring currently runs one-to-one and group mentoring programs in selected locations across Melbourne. The one-to-one mentoring program provides young people aged 7-20 years with a caring adult mentor, to be both a positive role model and supportive friend. Mentors commit to spending a minimum of 4 hours a month with their mentee for 12 months.
Group programs are weekly 1 to 1 1/2 hour classes with a group of young people at selected schools, during the school day.
Mentors undergo our Volunteer Screening which includes training, completion of a Police Check, Working with Children Check and references. A drivers licence and own vehicle is highly recommended but not compulsory.
